I am currently reading a book entitled, “Blogging as a Business”. This is a really good book, in my opinion. It has me wondering what exactly I want to do with my blog and where to go with it. It’s a great to be a blogger within the “blogosphere” of all blogs. If you want a blog along with your business, I am recommending this book as a good start!
Confidence can help in your career. I have been reading a book, “Self Confidence for Dummies”. This book has some useful information in here that has been helping me in my career and in my relationship to others.
According to this text (Burton & Platts, 2006), “Make change easy on yourself. Rome wasn’t built in a day”. This states that we should all take our time and if we make any mistakes, we should learn from them and not get caught up and be discouraged.
I’m sure there are many out there who struggle with this. It only takes a “leap of faith” to go over some challenge that you’ve been through. I see mistakes I make not as pitfalls; they are learning experiences.

It seems the Twitter interface is slow and unresponsive. when I access my follower list, it states “loading slowly…”. Now, I run on a high speed internet connection. I don’t understand why it says this and doesn’t load the page. Are they forcing me to use Tweetdeck for all things?!! I am not happy with Twitter’s web interface. I find Tumblr’s to be a lot better. Thanks Tumblr!
My web designers are working on my new site. They projected my website will be done by Friday on December 20, 2011, so you will soon be able to see it all in its’ new glory. I’m keeping the name as a secret for now!
My web site is going to contain articles I write, reviews on lots of things such as CMS systems, multimedia, and perhaps even software. I love tinkering with new software, which may include games, as well! It will also feature both personal and professional content that I write, giving the site a more personal feel than lots of corporate like web sites. Most important are my web site visitors, so I intend to tailor my content to what my audience loves and appreciates within what I write for.
I have now tried a new book, entitled Goodbye Byline Hello Big Bucks. So far, it seems to be a great book. I didn’t realize lots of money could be made in ghost writing alone. I may even do this in my beginning work. It gives more ideas and things I never thought of before! This book along with copywriting makes for powerful knowledge and work!
According to Secrets of A Freelance Writer (Bly, 2006), “Do I like the lifestyle of freelancing? Or do I want to take on a challenge of building my wealth through a company of my own”? I asked myself this question and decided to start out with freelancing and build my wealth more later.
This is a decision one has to make when one starts out freelancing. Do you want to do what do you do best and do only that? Or do you want to do it less and manage others more than what you do best at all times? I like to have variety, since I don’t envision myself writing at all times for the rest of my life. I do have a passion for it, however I have other dreams and pursuits I’d like to go after, as well.

Joomla! as a CMS is looking very slim with version 1.7 now. Joomla used to be the one that excelled for news and information type websites. Recently, it enhanced the user levels, which is a feature that was missing in Joomla for some time. It is almost in parallel with Drupal. A web host has informed me Joomla 1.5 is the most stable and still has the most plug-ins.
This must be similar to how Drupal has more plug-ins for version 6 than version 7. Drupal is great for any type of website, however the learning curve is hard from what I’ve read of all reviewers of it. Joomla is getting better for any type of site that Drupal can do.
I’m definitely learning about how to copywrite now. I am about 20 pages into Copywriter’s Handbook, 3rd Ed. and I already know how to right effective ads that draw attention. I would recommend this one if you are wondering how do the actual work of copywriting. It is also extensive in the information it gives. I am using this for all my promotional writing. It’s effective and it works!
I would have had Tumblr for my main blog if it wasn’t for the fact that the HTML capabilities aren’t flexible in the default editor. David Karp has done a great job on creating a a blog that has unique features. However, software can always be improved!
I love the simplicity of Tumblr and how big the buttons and everything are. For a professional blog, it still needs some things to make it do things right. The one I mentioned would be the most important to me.
VDownloader is great for downloading local copies of YouTube. I only use downloaders for videos that I like so that I don’t have to download them again. It actually saves on YouTube’s bandwidth, since you aren’t using much of their video stream.
Before I was using YouTube Downloader, which started out free, however eventually it became a paid version, which limited the download speed. On my internet, it went way down (even in the 10K, which is unacceptable)! Once I gave VDownloader a try, it is way better. Now, I wonder, will this software eventually go to a paid version, too? Well, It defeats the purpose of people enjoying free versions that do the job!
The only downside I’ve seen is that it takes up more memory, but not as much (61MB in my process explorer). If you had limited ram (say 2 GB or less), the other one will be more worth a try if you have other programs that need the resources. Otherwise, this one is a keep for me!
